Job Description

Project Accountant (AP/AR Focus)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, vendor setup, payment runs, and vendor reconciliations.
  • Handle Accounts Receivable functions, including customer invoicing, cash applications, collections, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate project cost records and ensure expenses are coded to the appropriate jobs and cost codes.
  • Assist with project billings, lien releases, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with Project Managers to track project costs, billing status, and outstanding receivables.
  • Reconcile job-related AP and AR transactions and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and reporting.
  • Assist with subcontractor compliance, insurance tracking, and contract administration.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • 75-80k DOE

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
  • Strong AP and AR experience required.
  • Experience with job costing and project accounting concepts.
  • Proficient in ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and project teams.
